Companies that want to take advantage of the Headquarters Tax Credits must meet the following requirements:
- At least 50 jobs have to be created within the headquarters
- At least $1 million must be spent in construction, renovation, leasing and all other costs relating to the relocation or the establishment of the company’s headquarters.
- The jobs created have to pay salaries that are slated percentages of the average county wage where the business is located.
This tax credit can be used to offset 100% of Georgia state income taxes in a taxable year. If there are tax credits left over, the company can use the leftover tax credits towards the company’s withholding taxes.
