Since Amazon announced that it was planning to open a second headquarters, over 238 cities have placed bids to welcome the company into their metro areas. Amazon’s second headquarters is projected to bring 50,000 high quality, high paying jobs to its second home. This type of job growth would dramatically boost the next city’s economy by the billions- just like it did in Seattle, adding roughly $38 billion to the city over a period of six years. For its next headquarters, Amazon plans to invest over $5 Billion just to build the new facility.
Amazon is looking for a location that will be accessible to a major airport, a metro area with a population of over 1 million. They are also looking for an area that has a large pool of tech talent.
